Milestones in our development
1962
The company is founded in 1962 by Heinz and Margret Eichholz. While Heinz Eichholz begins to develop technical solutions for animal husbandry after a serious accident, Margret Eichholz takes on key tasks behind the scenes at an early stage and continues to support the growing company to this day with her experience and knowledge as senior manager. The first feeding systems are built in Glandorf and on her parents' farm in Schapen. The inventive spirit of the founders laid the foundation for the further development of Eichholz.
1972
Demand increased, and Eichholz built its first production hall in Schapen. Aluminium silos were already being manufactured at this time, initially for agricultural businesses. The hall later became the heart of the entire business premises.
1978
The company continues to grow, primarily due to new orders from the chemical and food industries. The production hall is expanded and the first production tower for silos is added. Despite structural challenges, the tower is successfully put into operation. This investment marks the beginning of the transition to industrial plant engineering.
1980s
Heinz Eichholz develops a heat pump that uses exhaust air from stables for heating – including a self-designed evaporator that cleans dusty exhaust air. The ‘energy fence’ is also created, an early precursor to modern heat pump systems. At the same time, the battery-powered ‘Uniroller’ becomes an international sales success and is used in airports, hospitals and large companies. At this time, Eichholz is regarded as a versatile tinkerer with exceptional innovative strength.

Final assembly is significantly enlarged to avoid production bottlenecks. The reason for this is the high efficiency of the tower, which sometimes produced faster than it could be assembled. The expansion ensures smooth throughput and increases capacity in the long term.
